Lattice Lodge is a large Edwardian Property built in 1908 as a doctors surgery and residence, and has been completely renovated throughout and extended in keeping with the original style. Acquired in 2008 by local Ipswich couple Mosaic and Martin, Lattice Lodge provides a friendly 'home from home' atmosphere, yet with modern facilities such as a complimentary wireless network, and 'boutique hotel' touches such as fresh milk and filtered water in the rooms. For those guests who have stayed at Lattice Lodge before, and enjoyed the hospitality of the founders and previous owners, Pauline and Bill, we can only say that we aim to emulate the levels of service that previous guests have enjoyed. We wish them well in their richly deserved retirement, although as personal friends of ours, you may be lucky enough to see them pop by occasionally. Until taking over at Lattice Lodge, Mosaic worked at the British institution that is Marks and Spencer. She is also a qualified teacher, and a Reiki practitioner. And according to Martin, a fantastic cook (he enjoys cooking too, and has done more cookery courses than you can shake a stick at, but admits that Mosaic is just 'a natural'). Martin was, until the aforementioned date in 2008, one of those 'City commuter' types. But before you pigeon-hole him, he also co-founded (and is sadly now retired from) the local comedy club, and in his 'spare time' (!?) is one of the dedicated team that keeps the wonder that is Ipswich Recycle ticking along. |
